Yuthok Yönten Gönpo, the younger is the great 12th century Tibetan physician and meditation adept who is considered to be an emanation of Medicine Buddha and known as the Father of Tibetan Medicine. Attributed to Yuthok are both the Tibetan medical texts, the Gyud Zhi and the Yuthok Nyingthig, a complete system of practice, beginning with Ngöndro (the preliminaries) and progressing through Kyerim andDzogrim (Creation and Completion Stage practices) to the highest practices of Mahamudra and Dzogchen especially suited for busy and modern people, and anyone in who practices medicine or healing modalities.
This rare statue, handcrafted in Kathmandu, Nepal by master artisan is nine inches tall, copper with gold plating. It is filled with special medicinal substances and fully consecrated by Buddhist monks in the Kathmandu valley.
